Here in Grand Junction, there are local restaurants and food trucks everywhere. Walking down Main Street, you see door-to-door locally owned and operated places, unlike many other towns and cities in Colorado. Places like Main Street Bagel, Blue Moon, and Taco Party come to mind. However, the more time you spend in Grand Junction, the more you will hear about Rockslide Brewery.

The Rockslide Restaurant and Brewery located at the corner of Main Street and S 4th St in Grand Junction, Colorado, offers two patios for customers to sit down and enjoy their food at. (B. Sinclair, 2024).

Rockslide Brewery, sitting right on the corner of Main St and 4th St. Rockslide, has served customers beer and food for almost 30 years. The three owners, Scott Howard, Mike Bell, and Sean Forey, founded Rockslide and opened its doors in November 1994. After, they took a trip and had their first microbrews brewery. They decided they wanted to bring the same joy and experience they experienced to Grand Junction.

December 2024 is Rockslide’s 30th anniversary of creating and brewing its beer menu and cuisine. By doing this, Rockslide is getting customers to frequent its restaurant and impacting Grand Junction. From serving and talking to the customers to the events, they help add and make the brewing and beer culture in Grand Junction strive. Being a brewery is a big commitment with all the money that goes into the brewing practice while also being a full-time restaurant with a kitchen and other necessities. However, Rockslide seems to have it down. It has 4.4 overall stars on Google reviews, with over 2,500 reviews praising how good the food, beer, and overall service at Rockslide is. Shows how Rockslide has touched the Grand Valley.

With a menu of various choices, from fish to steak, Rockslide has you covered with whatever you crave. It also has a full bar and bartenders who can make whatever mixed drink you think of; they can make you. If that is not enough, you can try the eight different home-brewed microbrews they brew in-house for the freshest beer you can have. When you talk about the beer with any of the servers or staff at Rockslide, they will all tell you the same thing.

“It is all thanks to Zorba,” the staff will say when you speak highly about the beer.

Zorba Proteau is the brewer of all the beer from Rockslide. He has been doing it for the past 12 years, and it is still just the beginning.

With crazy deals on happy hour and food, you can grab food with the whole family without breaking the bank. With happy hour every day. On Tuesdays, at 5 p.m., Rockslide offers an all-you-can-eat deal with fish, chips, and burnt ends mac and cheese. The portions are so significant at Rockside that finishing the first dish is hardWhat sets Rockslide apart from many other places in the Grand Valley is how family-friendly this “Bar and grill” is. Families eat lunch and dinner at this venue, while just on the other side, people come to watch the games and grab a couple of drinks. However, the way they set up the bar and dining area is imposing. They are split by a wall so people who come for a meal with their children do not have to see or hear the people at the bar.

The Rockslide Restaurant and Brewery has been open for over 25 years and it started when three friends believed that microbrew pubs were the future. Customers can purchase Rockslide’s microbrew to go and see how the drink is made inside the establishment. (B. Sinclair, 2024).

Rockslide does a perfect job brewing and distributing its beers to customers at restaurants or even for people to take home. For 45 dollars, you can get your beer growler to take home and have that same delicious drink.Rachel Tracy, a busy college student, loves Rockslide for the growers.

“The growlers are my favorite,” Rachels explains. “It’s so convenient to pick up and take home for me and my roommates.”

From the fantastic home-brewed microbrews to the delicious appetizers and meals. To the sweet and savory desserts, Rockslide has you covered. From the time you walk in when you leave, you will be treated as a customer and guest, from affordable dining in a luxury restaurant and bar. There is nowhere better to go and spend a night out or an afternoon snack. With Rockslide’s 30th anniversary coming up, make sure to celebrate.
