Late Sunday night multiple people were transported to the hospital after a shooting led to a car chase on Riverside Parkway and Hale Ave. The suspect, 57-year-old David Johnson, of Grand Junction, attempted to flee from police but unfortunately crashed into another car, injuring multiple people. Police apprehended him and, in addition to those who were hit, Johnson was transported to the hospital.
Currently, it is unknown if there were any injured in the reported shooting. At this time Johnson is facing the following charges:
- Vehicular assault
- Possession of a weapon by a previous offender
- Reckless Endangerment
- Reckless Driving
- Operating a vehicle with a suspended license
- Harassment
- Vehicular eluding
- Driving while under the influence
- Illegal discharge of a firearm
- Displaying fictitious license plates
- Domestic violence
